SME Delegation Visits Canton Fair [Oman News Agency](Oman News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Guangzhou, Apr 15 (ONA) --- The Omani trade delegation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) today visited the five-day Canton Fair, which kicked-off in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. The visit comes as part of the campaign launched by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) under the theme "Join Us to Rise". Sheikh Abdullah bin Salim al-Rowas, OCCI Board member, Head of the OCCI branch in the Dhofar Governorate, is leading the delegation, which comprises of a number of OCCI officials, businessmen and 27 SMEs owners. The delegation visited the divisions of household electrical appliances, electronic products, computer, communication tools, electrical products, lighting equipment, motorcycles, auto parts, engineering machinery, steel and metal products, building materials, sanitary ware and chemical products in the fair in which more than 20,000 companies and factories take part. The delegation met with business owners and representatives of the Chinese manufacturers and businessmen participating in the fair. They were briefed on the latest Chinese industry in various fields ranging from manufacturing to packaging and marketing and promotion. They also explored the possibility of obtaining distribution agencies with a number of Chinese companies to distribute their products in the Omani market. Sheikh al-Rowas said that Canton Fair is one of the important world exhibitions, which businessmen and representatives of international companies keep on visiting, thus it is a golden opportunity for owners of SME to learn about the latest Chinese industry and meet with their counterparts from the Chinese companies for trade deals and come up with business ideas that can be applied in the Sultanate. He urged SME owners to make the most of the Canton Fair and its products and business ideas, as well as to meet with Chinese entrepreneurs and business professionals. The Head of delegation thanked Oman Oil Company (OOC) for supporting the visit that comes within its interest in supporting SMEs, calling other Omani companies to support all business delegations that OCCI plans to organize for SMEs owners during the next period. Sheikh Ali bin Salauym al-Junaibi of Al Ghalibi Company hailed the initiative launched by OCCI under "Join Us To Rise" campaign allocated to support SMEs owners. He added that the visit organized by OCCI with OOC to Canton Fair represents a real opportunity for businessmen and SMEs to learn about the contents of the fair in various industrial sectors. He invited all Omani businessmen and SMEs owners to visit Canton Fair, in its 2nd and 3rd stages this year to take advantage of business ideas raised by the fair and get the Chinese products distribution agencies in the Omani market. Eng.
