SmarTrend Watching for Potential Pullback in Shares of BMC Software After 6.69% Gain

Feb 02, 2012 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- BMC Software (NYSE:BMC) traded in a range yesterday that spanned from a low of $35.96 to a high of $38.84. Yesterday, the shares gained 6.7%, which took the trading range above the 3-day high of $36.82 on volume of 5.5 million shares. Often times after large one-day gains, short term traders will seek to take profits and, as such, investors should be cautious.


In the past 52 weeks, shares of BMC Software have traded between a low of $31.62 and a high of $56.55 and are now at $38.26, which is 21% above that low price. In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day moving average (MA) has fallen 0.2% while the 200-day MA has slid 0.5%.
