[November 09, 2009] 'Smart Telecom sells customer base, assets to Digiweb' Tweet Nov 09, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Irish operator Smart Telecom has announced a deal to sell its entire customer base and assets to Irish telecoms and managed services provider Digiweb. The deal is subject to approval by creditors and the Irish High Court and will allow Smart to emerge from a period of Examinership and become part of the Digiweb Group. The combined group will have 46,500 business, residential, corporate and government customers for broadband, data and telephony, along with over 48,000 web hosting, domain and data centre clients. The merger combines Smart's fibre, high-speed DSL infrastructure and next-generation IP network with Digiweb's data centre and hosting platform and national wireless infrastructure.
