SkyStream Brings Next Generation of VOD and IPTV to NAB2006

SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- April 20, 2006 -- SkyStream(R), a TANDBERG Television company and leader in IP video delivery solutions, announced it will demonstrate new video-on-demand (VOD) and IPTV solutions at the NAB2006 tradeshow, taking place Saturday, April 22, to Thursday, April 27, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. SkyStream will show a new version of its zBand(TM) content delivery software, and also introduce its support of Microsoft TV's Picture-in-Picture (PiP) capability within its Mediaplex-20(TM) and iPlex(TM) video headends.

SkyStream will demonstrate a range of IP video technologies and services at the conference, including:

-- zBand 6.0: zBand updates its market-leading PUSH VOD platform to enable content delivery through both unicast and multicast networks, now letting subscribers access and manage their VOD services around the home through a broadband Internet connection. ReelTime Media Ltd. of Australia is using the new version of zBand to deliver VOD over broadband Internet to subscribers' television set-top boxes.

-- PiP: SkyStream adds integrated PiP capability to its Mediaplex and iPlex video headends, enabling consumers to simultaneously watch multiple MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC standard-definition video channels on a single screen.

-- All-IP MPEG-4 AVC Video Headend of the Future: Service providers ready to migrate their headend infrastructures to IP can turn to SkyStream for a ready solution. Featuring the industry's first integrated MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 transcoding solution, SkyStream's NEBS-compliant Mediaplex and iPlex video headends can receive MPEG-2 video streams over IP IRDs, transcode MPEG-2 video streams from any source into MPEG-4 in one all-digital step, and then route the MPEG-4 content to any last mile network without purchasing costly video conversion devices. The all-IP video headend enables fast, efficient video processing and reduces carriers' capital and operating costs.

-- MovieBeam(TM): SkyStream will showcase a full retail display of MovieBeam, the largest PUSH VOD service in the U.S., which delivers the latest Hollywood movies to customers in 29 major metropolitan areas. Visitors will be able to interact with the MovieBeam set-top box to view 100 new releases and selected movie titles, on-demand.

SkyStream staff will be available in Booth SL2987 in Hall 1 to field questions and demonstrate its products from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, through Wednesday, April 26, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27.
