Sky News profit up but future unclear

Jan 09, 2011 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Sky News Australia, owner and operator of Australian News Channel (ANC), has recorded a 2009-10 net profit of $A10.4m, up 14.1%. The total distributions to the three stakeholders in ANC, namely BSkyB, Nine Entertainment Company and Seven Media Group, were $A3m higher at $A9.8m. Experts forecast that lower pay TV subscriber growth at Sky clients Austar and Foxtel will mean the performance in 2010-11 is less good.
