Shell Names New Chairman [Ventures Africa]


(Ventures Africa Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) VENTURES AFRICA – Europe's biggest oil company Royal Dutch Shell Plc, has appointment Charles Otis “Chad” Holliday Jr., a former non-executive director, as its Chairman. Charles will succeed Jorma Ollila who has been at the helm for the last nine years.



"I am thrilled that Chad who has distinguished track record as an international businessman has been appointed to succeed me as chairman," said Jorma Ollila outgoing chairman.

He is presently the Chairman of the Corporate and Social Responsibility and Member of the Remuneration Committee of the company.


"I am honoured to be appointed Chairman of this great company and I look forward to working with Ben van Beurden and the whole Board," said Chad Holliday.

Holliday previously served as the Chairman of DuPont, an American chemical company from 1999 to 2009, as well as the chief Executive Officer of the same company from 1998 to 2009. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Bank of America Corporation and has also served as Chairman of the Bank up until September 2014. Charles is also a director at Deere & Company.
