Sensus Embarks on Procurement Automation with Zycus

PRINCETON, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

Zycus, a world leader in procurement technology solutions across the source-to-pay cycle, announced today that Sensus has selected its complete spend analysis and eSourcing solutions. The Spend Analysis implementation will encompass standard AutoClass and iAnalyze technology plus the advanced:

  • iCost feature, which enables spend analytics in context of some 1,200 market price and cost models.
  • iMine feature, which automates identification of potential strategic sourcing and other procurement performance improvement opportunities.

Sensus' eSourcing deployment, in the meantime, will include the advanced iManage feature, which supports sourcing-process standardization, workflow and communications management from opportunity identification all the way through competitive supplier RFx and strategic business-award decisions.

Headquartered in Raleigh, Sensus is a leading clean technology solutions company offering smart meters, communication systems, software and services for the electric, gas, and water industries. Sensus technology helps utilities drive operational efficiency and customer engagement with applications that include advanced meter reading, data acquisition, demand response, distribution automation, home area networking and outdoor lighting control.

Beyond typical strategic sourcing and spend management opportunities such as supply base & SKU rationalization and discovery of price-point variances among locations, Sensus will also explore the possibility of extending spend analytics to sub tier suppliers. "As a company whose own products leverage the power of big data, we see enormous potential in having up-to-date, highly granular visibility into our spending worldwide," said Ron Malin, director of sourcing for Sensus. "We chose Zycus for its deep domain expertise with spend classification, ease of use in its solutions and ability to accommodate our spending data across multiple languages, including English, German and Chinese."

"Sensus joins a formidable group of global procurement leaders with this implementation," said Zycus CEO and Founder Aatish Dedhia. "Barely a decade ago, it would have been difficult to conceive of creating globally aggregated views of spending that are also accurate and detailed enough to be mined innovatively and used to inform both long-term supply strategy and daily business decision making. We have worked very hard at Zycus to systematically tear down all the obstacles associated with global corporate complexity."
