Sedona Systems Strengthens North American Sales Leadership Team

Sedona Systems, the global leader in multilayer IP/optical network automation and control, today announced it has added Michael Casey and Benjamin Shat to the North American sales leadership team. Casey and Shat will support rapidly growing demand for Sedona's NetFusion product line as network service providers seek practical solutions to operate their networks more efficiently.

NetFusion is a software-defined networking (SDN) solution that automatically discovers and visualizes a carrier's IP/MPLS and Optical network layers into a single, abstracted model. This real-time view of multilayer, multivendor, multidomain topology and traffic delivers unprecedented visibility, and the ability to reap the benefits of network convergence and software agility, even with existing infrastructures. The NetFusion App Suite furthers this converged solution with optimization and automation apps that improve network resiliency and efficiency.

Casey has over 25 years of experience in the wireless and wireline networking industries. Before Sedona, he was Spider Cloud Wireless Inc.'s senior vice president of global sales, helping the company to expand sales to Tier 1 mobile operators. Previously, Casey served as Vice President of Sales at Flarion Technologies, where he led the North American sales efforts with Sprint (News - Alert) and other US carriers. Casey graduated with a BA from Brigham Young University.

Shat has 20 years of experience selling to carriers, Internetservice providers, data centers and enterprises with Tellabs and Coriant after its acquisition of Tellabs. Shat's latest position at Coriant was Vice President for North American Key Markets and Verizon (News - Alert) Sales. During his time working at Tellabs/Coriant, Shat grew his career through a variety of sales leadership positions. He graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in mechanical engineering.

"We're seeing significant growth in demand for our NetFusion product as North American network operators embrace solutions to modernize and automate their networks," commented Yossi Wellingstein, Sedona Systems CEO. "We are very happy to bring the experience and leadership of Michael Casey and Benjamin Shat to the team. Mike and Ben have both helped carrier customers to embrace new technologies that have benefited their business. They are just the right team to have on board."
