SAP Wins Best LTE Roaming Product at LTE Asia Awards

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 06 October 2014 Release date- 02102014 - SINGAPORE - SAP SE today announced that the SAP LTE 365 mobile service was awarded Best LTE Roaming Product at the Informa Telecoms & Media inaugural LTE Asia awards, which took place September 24 in Singapore.

SAP Mobile Services, a division of SAP, has a strong presence in SMS interoperability with more than 15 years in the market. As networks evolved, along with the rapid increase in handset capabilities, the demand for new services such as data interconnect arose and SAP Mobile Services has evolved its proposition from SMS interoperability to GRX, LTE and IPX.

'Our roaming solutions make it more attractive for operators to deploy LTE and improve the consumer experience,' said Sethu M, president, SAP Mobile Services. 'SAP Mobile Services delivers the real LTE experience to roaming customers even if only home or visited network is an LTE network. We've designed our roaming solutions to deliver end-to-end quality of service, which means operators can benefit from the real value of IP-based LTE services.' SAP Mobile Services is enabling many leading operators globally to interconnect and enable roaming between LTE and 3G networks. SAP IPX 365 mobile service and diameter hubbing services enables mobile network operators (MNOs) to drive faster return on investment in LTE networks by enabling efficient roaming and delivering the defined user experience rather than 'best effort.' Through direct connectivity with peering agreements, SAP offers an LTE roaming community of 80 operators, which continues to grow on a monthly basis.

SAP has launched a new cloud-based service that aims to simplify interconnecting rich communication services (RCS), such as instant messaging, video and file sharing for mobile operators. SAP Mobile Services was the first to announce a standards-compliant IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) for IP-based services, including RCS and voice over LTE (VoLTE), intended to allow consumers to communicate beyond traditional voice and messaging services across any device, network and geography.

'Having received a fantastic number of entries for the LTE Asia Awards, the judges were in an unenviable position of marking such high-caliber submissions,' said Sam Oakley, events director at Informa Telecoms and Media. 'The entries truly represented the growth and innovation surrounding the LTE market in the Asia Pacific region. Congratulations to all the shortlisted companies and of course to the 2014 winners.'
