S. Korean president to hold security meeting on isle dispute Wed.+


(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SEOUL, April 18_(Kyodo) _ South Korea President Roh Moo Hyun will convene a meeting with his ministers in charge of security and foreign affairs on Wednesday morning to discuss the crisis over Japan's planned maritime survey near a pair of South Korea-controlled islets claimed by Tokyo, Yonhap News Agency reported.



A Japan Coast Guard vessel departed from Tokyo late Tuesday to conduct the maritime survey near the islets called Dokdo in South Korea and Takeshima in Japan.

South Korea has called for a "stern response" if Japan goes ahead with the survey near the islets.
