Application developers can now link to the dynamic features and switching capabilities of Quadro's central call management engine using the Third Party Call Control API. The move promises an almost unlimited variety of voice and video capabilities. In addition, Version 4.1 offers new services to an already feature-rich platform for users plus ten new tools that automate and simplify system administrators' tasks. The new software simplifies voicemail setup from any telephone using a streamlined series of voice prompts. Users of Snom(TM) and Aastra(TM) VoIP phone sets can assign a variety of ring sounds to identify the source of incoming calls and therefore recognize and respond appropriately to VIP customers. They can also download local extension directories and use one touch dialing to ring any extension on the PBX. System managers will appreciate such features as automatic backup and download of Quadro user configurations, automatic updates of Quadro firmware and pre-programmed compensation for daylight savings time. Small companies will take advantage of plug-and-play installation. IP phones now automatically acquire an extension on the system and auto-configure without user intervention.
