RealD and Cinemark Pact to Equip 20 Premium Large Format XD Auditoriums with New RealD GS Cinema System

Global visual technology company RealD Inc. (NYSE: RLD) and Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK), a leading motion picture exhibitor, announced today that the companies will work together to install RealD's new PLF focused GS Cinema System in 20 Cinemark XD auditoriums across the United States and Latin America. Installations will be a mix of upgrades to existing XD auditoriums and new builds and have already begun with the Cinemark 18 + XD in Los Angeles with additional installations to be completed over approximately 24 months.

The RealD GS Cinema System is a new PLF projection technology designed to work with the new generation of laser projection as well as single or dual Xenon lamp based digital cinema projectors. Consisting of a dual wide throw-ratio lens assembly for a single projector arrangement or pair of wide throw-ratio lenses for dual projector set-ups, and integrated RealD 3D light recycling technology, the GS Cinema System is designed to deliver the industry's brightest ultra-crisp 4K 2D and 3D images on PLF screens that may surpass 100 feet in width with a throw ratio of 0.8-1.0. The high efficiency RealD GS Cinema System is high frame rate compatible and continues the RealD tradition of easy set up and high reliability.
