Reading Eagle, Pa., Business Log column: New CEO named at Weis Markets(Reading Eagle (PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 6--Weis Markets Inc. named David J. Hepfinger, 50, as its chief executive officer, succeeding former CEO Norman S. Rich, who has retired. Prior to becoming CEO, Hepfinger was the president and chief operating offi cer. He will continue to be president. Timothy R. Melcher and Susan Levan have acquired Robesonia Florist , a fl ower and gift shop, at 4056 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. The business has been renamed Petals on Penn , and Levan will be the manager. The business offers fresh fl oral and silk arrangements, plants, planters, gifts, greeting cards and home decor items. National Penn Bancshares Inc ., Boyertown, will present at the FIG Partners Dandy Dozen 2009 Institutional Investor Conference Wednesday and Thursday at Sofitel Hotel in New York City. The speakers at National Penn's presentation will be Glenn E. Moyer, president and CEO, and Michael R. Reinhard, chief financial officer. National Penn will discuss its financial performance in the context of the current economy as well as major strategic initiatives. The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce will kick off 2009 with an economic forecast breakfast Thursday from 7 to 9 a.m. Keynote speaker James King, president and chief investment officer of National Penn Investors Trust Co., will provide a review of the notable market and economic events of 2008 and offers a view of 2009.
