Radisys' ATCA platform selected by Polaris Wireless

Feb 09, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Radisys Corporation (Nasdaq:RSYS), a provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions, and Polaris Wireless, a provider of software-based wireless location solutions, announced on Wednesday that Polaris Wireless is leveraging Radisys' AdvancedTCA (ATCA) platform solution for OmniLocate, its universal location platform.


Financial details of the selection were not available.

OmniLocate is relied upon by network operators and government agencies to enable public safety, surveillance and other location-based services.


Polaris Wireless has reportedly selected the ATCA platform to improve scalability and upgradability of its OmniLocate platform for emergency call management (E911) and security applications.

With the Radisys blade server approach, Polaris Wireless can upgrade OmniLocate platform performance based on the Intel roadmap by simply swapping blades, therby allowing development of new products with minimal investment with a future proof platform, Radisys said.
