Qatar businesswomen forum on December 16-17 [Peninsula, The (Qatar)]


(Peninsula, The (Qatar) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DOHA: The fifth edition of Qatar International Businesswomen Forum on December 16-17 will feature discussions on national issues, including human development, women empowerment, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and entrepreneurship, according to an official statement.



The two-day event will feature five sessions, and keynote speeches by distinguished personalities from the public and private sectors, who will highlight widening opportunities for women to be among the future business and socio-political leaders.

There will also be success stories of women from different fields and workshops to address topics important to business women.


"From the list of topics, we believe that the forum will once again be a success," said Aisha Alfardan, Vice-Chairwoman of Qatari Businesswomen Association.

"As we aim to build further knowledge and confidence among women, we believe that participants will benefit from insights from the speakers and be able to take a wider role in leading the country's growth and development." A one-and-a-half hour session on Qatar National Vision 2030 will open forum activities.

The session will highlight Qatar's ambitious journey towards human development and sustainable economic diversification based on human capital.

It will also discuss economic development and responsible growth objectives, women empowerment and their increasing role in Qatar's economic, political and cultural developments.

The second session will focus on 'Businesswomen as Innovators and Entrepreneurs: A Continuing Update on Opportunities, Challenges, Skills and Success'.

The second day will begin with a session on 'Businesswomen and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)', followed by a session on 'Social Responsibility Strategies for Reducing Poverty, Generating Investment and Trade, and Improving Business Performance'.

The forum will end with a session on 'Social Innovation in Principle and Practice: Does It Have a Meaningful Impact'.
