[May 23, 2013] Procera unveils query capability for network analytics Tweet May 23, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Procera Networks, Inc., a provider of policy enforcement solutions, has announced the availability of Dynamic LiveView, a query capability for network analytics. Procera's first-to-market capability enables network operations, engineering, finance, marketing, executive staff and customer service teams to formulate their own queries to view network activity from their own perspective. Dynamic LiveView builds upon the awareness capabilities already built into Procera's Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE) system. According to the company, network administrators can now create custom queries on-the-fly utilizing any DPI-collected statistics in order to gain better insights into network behavior to avoid degradation of network services, or to immediately identify subscriber application usage trends. Dynamic LiveView software is packaged with Procera's PacketLogic IPE systems with no additional license fees. "Real-time network visibility is becoming more critical for network operators to ensure that broadband network subscribers enjoy the highest quality of experience possible with their Internet access services," said Alexander Havang, chief technology officer for Procera. "Dynamic LiveView enables network operators to see exactly what they want to see in the network, from pinpointing the source of network congestion to real-time visibility into streaming services." PacketLogic Dynamic LiveView enables network operators, cloud providers, and high-speed enterprises to gain customized real-time insights into network behavior. Dynamic LiveView extends the current historic reporting functionality available on the PacketLogic Intelligence Center (PIC) by allowing the creation of customized queries for use in real-time monitoring, dashboards, and network forensics that mix and match data such as subscriber identities, content categorization, device types, network conditions, location, traffic management status, routing and peering attributes, and applications for a real-time view of network traffic. Dynamic LiveView is also available via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to enable more efficient dashboards and big data reports targeting specific datasets. LiveView enables visibility from the highest level of data categories all the way down into a single traffic flow, the company said.
