Prevention Magazine Appoints Siobhan O'Connor and Jessica Branch to Senior Editor


NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

Prevention magazine Editor-in-Chief Diane Salvatore announced today the appointments of Siobhan O'Connor and Jessica Branch to Senior Editor, effective today and 12/1, respectively. Prevention magazine is the #1 healthy lifestyle brand in the U.S. and published by Rodale Inc.

O'Connor is the recipient of an Earth Journalism Award (2009) and RAIA Design and Criticism Award (2010) and was recently named a Folio Award finalist. She was most recently Features Editor at the twice-ASME-nominated GOOD magazine since 2007; prior to that, she was Deputy Editor at King. She has also held editorial positions at Blender, The Source (News - Alert), and Paper, and has written for Vibe and The Daily Green. O'Connor is the co-auhor of the critically acclaimed natural health and beauty book No More Dirty Looks (De Capo Lifelong Books). She has made media appearances on NBC's TODAY, MTV, CBS's The Doctors and NPR (News - Alert) among others. She attended Columbia University in New York.



Branch is the recipient of the 2008 Award for Excellence in Health Care Journalism from the Association of Health Care Journalists and the 2006 Public Service Award from National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform. Before freelancing for the last year, she was the Senior News Editor at Good Housekeeping, since 2007. Prior to that, she was Senior and Articles Editor at Ladies' Home Journal, since 2004. Branch has held various editorial and producing posts at iVillage.com, Citysearch (News - Alert).com, Glamour and Esquire. Branch holds a Ph.D. and M. Phil. in Comparative Literature from Yale University where she has taught, and a B.A. in Humanities, summa cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University.
