Pratt & Whitney Canada to offer Altair Data Transmission Units on jets

(Airline Industry Information Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Manufacturer and designer of aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney Canada, a
business unit of United Technologies (NYSE:UTX), announced on Monday
(24 September) that the company is offering Altair Avionics data
transmission units for installation on the Cessna XL/XLS, Cessna 680
Sovereign, Gulfstream G200 and Dassault Falcon 2000EX business
aircraft.

This offering is result of the Supplemental Type Certification awarded
by the US Federal Aviation Authority.

Altair's data transmission unit (DTU) is a critical component of the
on-board engine performance monitoring system. The DTU captures engine
health data and transmits it wirelessly through the cellular network
for analysis using a dedicated web tool, the company said.
