Powertech IST and Omnix Software enter into sub-Saharan Africa telecommunications network partnership
Powertech IST and international software solution company, Omnix Software, announced today that they have entered into a sub-Saharan Africa mobile telecommunications systems partnership which promises to provide the industry with advanced network inventory management and project automation solutions.
Omnix Software and Powertech IST recognized the natural synergies which exist between their service offerings and have entered into a mobile telecommunications partnership aimed at improving network efficiency across sub-Saharan Africa. The partnership was launched at the pan-African telecommunications summit, AfricaCOM, being held in Cape Town today and tomorrow.
William Tickner, Omnix Software CEO commented: "Omnix has been active in the African market for some time now and we count Vodacom, Zain-Celtel and MTN (News - Alert) amongst our customers. In view of its high profile in the African market, we are very pleased that Powertech IST has taken the decision to invest in making Omnix the solution of choice for all African mobile operators seeking to automate project management activities and exert greater control over network assets."
Omnix's core business focus areas include project and programme organisation, site and estate management, resource planning and allocation, as well as delivery and operation solutions for mobile and fixed line operators. Key benefits of the Omnix solution include shortened installation deployments, improved asset tracking and inventory management, as well as increased productivity.
The decision to partner with Omnix Software was partly due to Powertech IST's already successful association with Omnix sister company, Clarity. Powertech IST and Omnix Systems' product lines being complimentary, the potential for a single source pioneering African mobile operator process automation solution became evident.
"Powertech IST is very excited about being the Value Added Reseller for Omnix in sub-Saharan Africa," says Henk Bredell, OSS divisional manager. "This essentially means that IST will drive the development of the market for Omnix in the region, as well as build a local presence and skills base. Omnix is adding yet another product to an already strong product portfolio and IST is looking forward to developing the African customer base for them."
