Popular Telephony Adds GNUP Support to PeerioBiz 1.1 Beta; Version Allows Free IP Calling between Businesses

HANNOVER, Germany --(Business Wire)-- March 15, 2006 -- Popular Telephony, the enterprise peer-to-peer (P2P) innovators and creators of the multi-award winning Peerio(TM) platform, have announced the addition of the GNUP (Global NUmbering Plan) support to PeerioBiz(TM) Beta v.1.1 at CeBit.

PeerioBiz is the serverless business communication software application that replaces PBXs and is available now free of charge at www.peerio.com.

PeerioBiz with GNUP assigns the user a unique number, providing them with safe Firewall Traverse (FWT) services that works through secure proxies located directly on high-speed networks optical backbones. Targeted for the small to medium business communications market, PeerioBiz with GNUP offers more than just free and secure calling. It also supports many of the commonly used PBX features, such as call transfer, call park, voice mail, auto attendant, intercom, night guard, paging, as well as other added benefits.

All GNUP numbers are provided without cost to the user, enabling the seamless interconnection between locations and the firewall traverse capabilities. Individual numbers are provided as well as corporate group numbers. Bulk registration for service providers is also supported.

Users can obtain their free GNUP number directly from PeerioBiz software or, alternatively, by registering on www.peerio.com/gnup. When the GNUP number is assigned and activated, it identifies other GNUP users and creates presence, enabling them to communicate globally free of charge.

"We are systematically executing our vision to provide no cost VOIP to the business community for users who need secure, high quality voice, with PBX-like functionality for their communications. This is especially important to those who want the benefits and cost savings that Peerio's Peer2Peer-based technology offers," said Popular Telephony CEO Dmitry Goroshevsky. "We've initiated our efforts around GNUP more than a year ago. We've tested it for several months on a live network. Now we are moving into including that into PeerioBiz 1.1 Beta phase. Going forward, the GNUP program will expand to provide Peerio users with additional free business collaboration solutions on a global scale."
