Pluralsight Joins U.S. President for First-Ever White House Demo Day

On August 4, representatives from Pluralsight, a global leader in online training for technology professionals, will join entrepreneurs and organizations across the country in Washington, D.C. for the first-ever White House Demo Day, which builds on President Obama's recently-launched TechHire Initiative - a multi-sector effort to give Americans pathways to well-paying technology jobs.

In partnership with TechHire, Pluralsight is launching a $20 million in-kind philanthropic initiative to empower unemployed, job-seeking Americans with the programming and IT skills they need to begin and sustain well-paying careers in technology. The initiative, which seeks to lower unemployment and close the nation's growing skills gap in the technology sector, will offer 50 of the most relevant and critical technology courses and assessments from Pluralsight's expert-authored library to program participants at no cost.

"We are incredibly proud to partner with the President and the White House for this landmark initiative to bolster our economy by filling technology jobs with trained, prepared individuals," said Pluralsight co-founder and CEO Aarn Skonnard. "Pluralsight strongly believes in the democratization of education and that all individuals should be able to take ownership of their learning experience. This partnership will help accelerate professional training for the unemployed and get them back into the workforce quicker."

The White House Demo Day and TechHire Initiative serve in part to highlight the nation's diverse set of entrepreneurs within our innovation economy, and to make sure more startup hotbeds emerge in every corner of America. Pluralsight, which bootstrapped for nearly a decade before raising nearly $170 million in funding, is in a unique position to support the President's mission by providing technical training, assessment and mentorship to help position people to land in-demand jobs in a matter of months, not years.

Pluralsight's offering will be made available later this year in the 21 TechHire regions that support the President's initiative. These communities - which include New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Kansas City, Portland and Salt Lake City, among others - are leaders in the technology sector and have numerous jobs available in those fields.
