Peter M. Poulin Appointed as CEO of Motion Computing®

Motion Computing® has appointed Peter M. Poulin as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With more than 25 years of sales, marketing and general management experience in the public and private sectors, Poulin will capitalize on the company's deep mobility expertise to expand Motion's reach within target vertical markets. Specifically, he will define and drive execution of product and go-to-market strategies that increase the value of Motion to its customers and shareholders. Aggressive investments in the design and development of ruggedized tablet platforms and integrated mobility solutions have resulted in new growth channels and solidified the company's segment leadership position within the utility, public safety, healthcare, manufacturing and natural resources sectors.

"Motion and Panasonic (News - Alert) are the top two providers of rugged tablets, and Motion has remained at the forefront of rugged mobility innovation for over a decade because we understand mobility and how to apply innovative technologies to the unique workflow requirements of our customers," explained Peter Poulin, CEO of Motion. "Every product we design, every partner we work with and every deployment we support has a specific purpose. Our deep domain expertise radically reduces deployment risks, and users are able to complete their work more efficiently, accurately, and safely. Companies benefit by lowering their operational cots, preserving their existing investments in IT infrastructure, and improving customer service levels."

Poulin has served as Motion's vice president of marketing since July 2012 and was responsible for driving the company's multi-faced product strategy and global marketing programs. He has successfully elevated Motion's brand awareness among customers and partners and introduced new sales growth opportunities for the company with his establishment of targeted channel marketing, business-to-business demand generation, marketing communication and lead management initiatives.

Poulin's leadership has also proven critical for both start-ups and well-established organizations that have undergone phases of rapid growth and transformational change over the past two decades, including Compaq, American Power Conversion (News - Alert) (APC), Hoover's, and several software/hardware startups. He boasts extensive knowledge across all channels of distribution and will be able to leverage his diverse experience across the hardware, software and services sectors to ensure Motion's continued relevance and collaboration with partners and customers alike.

"The iPad introduction really accelerated the adoption of the tablet form factor. A generation of workers has now come to expect the utility of a tablet to be integrated into their workflows," Poulin continued. "Combined with the increased ubiquity of broadband networks and purpose-built rugged tablets, these productivity enhancing tools can be used in an ever expanding set of demanding work environments. Motion intends to lead the way in delivering true mobility to these users."
