Peres suggests Iranian president is madman(UPI Top Stories Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)In an address on Israel Radio Saturday, former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres suggested that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a madman. Peres predicted that Ahmadinejad will end up the same way as Saddam Hussein, CNN reported. Peres was responding to statements by the Iranian leader on Friday that the Zionist regime is a dying tree, and an earlier statement that Israel would be wiped off the map. History knew how to denounce madmen and those who wave their sword, and all those who acted this way ended their careers accordingly, Peres said. Peres, one of the leaders of Israel's new Kadima Party, has called Iran the greatest danger to world peace. Iran is a United Nations member state threatening another U.N. member state, and the international organization will not let this go unheeded, Peres said. Peres, who shared the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize with the late Palestinian and Israeli leaders, Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin, said Ahmadinejad is uniting the entire world against him. |
