Pennsylvania to Launch Mobile Child Support Website

HARRISBURG, Pa., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of Human Services (DHS) today announced the June 1 launch of a mobile version of the Pennsylvania Child Support website. The mobile site is designed to simplify screen navigation and case details for people accessing child support program information with a smartphone or tablet.

The Pennsylvania Child Support website provides access to child support program information and case details. Using this new mobile application, customers can: view the status of their cases, make payments, see upcoming appointments, request materials, calculate estimated child support payments, and locate their local domestic relations sections. They can also read the frequently asked questions section for guidance on how to use the site.

"DHS wants to ensure that families receive all of the child support they are due. The mobilesite will make it easier to people to pay child support or check their cases on-the-go," said Acting DHS Secretary Ted Dallas. "The commonwealth leads the nation in the percentage of child support collected, and this technological upgrade will further increase our collection rate."

More than 18,000 people visit the child support website daily and 67 percent use mobile devices as their primary means of accessing online content.

"We are always looking for ways to improve customer service and the new mobile site gives customers some of the features they want the most," Dallas said. "For example, if a parent is at the grocery store, they can now use their cell phone to see how much child support is currently deposited in their account before they complete their shopping."

Pennsylvania is the only state to meet or exceed all five federally mandated performance measures established by the Child Support Performance and Incentive Act of 1998.
