Peeping X-ray tech gets date for trial [Norwalk Reflector, Ohio](Norwalk Reflector (OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 21--RAVENNA -- A fired Willard ultrasound technician accused of taking and compiling nude photos of patients has a jury trial set for Jan. 26. Jamie Aguirre, 43, of 68 Sandy Trail, waived his right to a speedy trial Thursday in Portage County Common Pleas Court. Earlier this month, a grand jury indicted him on 11 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented materials in connection with an Oct. 25 traffic stop on Ohio 43 at I-76. Brimfield police officers, who stopped Aguirre for a lane violation, found video equipment and digital memory cards containing about 200 photographs and roughly 30 videos taken during medical testing procedures at Advanced Medical Imaging in Tiffin. Chief David Blough has said the photos were of children and adults undressing, sedated patients without their clothes on and X-rays of people's pubic areas. At least 10 of the videos and pictures are people between the ages of 8 and 30. Before his arrest, Aguirre was driving back from a Pittsburgh Steelers game. A search of Aguirre's home by Brimfield officers and Huron County sheriff's deputies netted a computer hard drive, laptop, DVD burner, 355 handmade DVDs and other computer-related items. The evidence was sent to a state lab for analysis. Aguirre was fired Oct. 26 in light of the accusations. He started working at Advanced on Dec. 18, 2007. The defendant was an ultrasound technician at Mercy Willard Hospital from Jan. 23, 2004 until Feb. 2, 2008. Hospital officials have said Aguirre left Mercy for another job and could have worked weekends or for other employees during the time his employment with Mercy and Advanced overlapped. Mercy officials released a prepared statement soon after the allegations arose. The Willard hospital said there were no indications "that any incidents related to the charges occurred at Mercy," which did background checks and "an extensive interview process" before hiring Aguirre. Willard Police Chief Joe Daniel, earlier this month, said no local victims have approached police about any wrongdoing related to Aguirre's work at Mercy. Aguirre remains behind bars at the Portage County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond To see more of the Norwalk Reflector or to subscribe to the newspaper, go to http://www.norwalkreflector.com/.
