[July 01, 2009] PCCW deploys Acme Packet's SBCs for next generation network Tweet Jul 01, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- PCCW, an integrated wired and wireless communications service provider in Hong Kong, has deployed Acme Packet's Net-Net session border controllers as part of a next-generation network migration plan. According to Acme Packet, the Net-Net 4500 session border controllers (SBCs) are deployed at major access network aggregation points to provide security and maximize the reach of PCCW's residential VoIP services. Acme Packet claims that its Net-SAFE security framework provides protection against DoS/DDoS attacks and overloads, while topology hiding and access control lists keep unauthorized and malicious traffic from disrupting service availability. Adaptive hosted NAT traversal eliminates the roadblocks to incoming calls created by premise-based NAT devices and firewalls. Acme Packet's SIP signaling normalization allows PCCW's multi-vendor network to better interoperate, maximizing its service reach.
