Our Lady of the Lake Touts Successful HIT Outcomes; Hospital Partners with Leading Provider Cerner to Save 4,950 Nursing Hours


KANSAS CITY, Mo. --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 8, 2006 -- Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, one of Louisiana's largest hospital, serves more than 600,000 patients each year through inpatient and outpatient services. Together with Cerner Corp., the hospital was one of the first in the world to implement a unified RIS/PACS system for paperless, filmless radiology service, eliminating mismatched images, improving turnaround times and increasing effectiveness of clinical decision-making.



Our Lady of the Lake uses Cerner solutions for electronic medical records, orders and documentation, decision support, laboratory, access management, pharmacy, scheduling, radiology, surgery, emergency, PACS and transcription management. The medical center now saves nearly 5,000 nursing hours annually. In addition, the hospital has saved an average of 11 minutes per admission due to implementation of Cerner's software solutions.

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is the dominant institution in healthcare in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
