Optio Software Taps Former QAD Executive to Head EMEA Operations

ALPHARETTA, Ga. --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 14, 2006 -- Optio(R) Software, Inc. today announced that it has named David Moody to lead the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations.

Moody will serve as managing director for Optio's EMEA operations and will report to Paul O'Callaghan, senior vice president of global sales and services. He will be based in Optio's United Kingdom headquarters office.

In his new post, Moody will focus on accelerating sales of Optio's business process solutions and driving profitable growth throughout EMEA. He will oversee the company's EMEA direct sales team as well as a broad network of Optio distributors and resellers across EMEA. Under his leadership, Optio EMEA will continue to provide superior support and solutions to EMEA customers in a variety of industries, including Actaris, Arjo Wiggins, Electrolux, France Telecom, JCB, Mobilcom and Motorola.

Moody brings more than 20 years of sales management experience in the European enterprise software sector. He joins Optio after spending nearly eight years at QAD (NASDAQ:QADI), a Carpinteria, Calif.-based provider of enterprise applications for global manufacturers. At QAD, Moody held various sales management positions before being named vice president of EMEA sales in March 2004. He previously served in sales management positions at IMI and MDIS.

Moody began his new post on Feb. 6, 2006. Moody holds master's degrees in economics from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, in econometrics and computing from Birkbeck College - University of London and in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics.
