Office Workers Feeling the Heat to "Hurry-Up", TrackVia Survey Shows

As America's businesses look to do more with less, workers are feeling
the pressure. A whopping 84 percent of non-executive office workers
reported feeling pressure "at least occasionally" to do their work
faster. This is according to a new survey sponsored by TrackVia,
providers of an online platform that gives non-technical business people
a radically faster way to build and use their own software to do their
The need for speed appears universal amongst surveyed workers. Most
rated the speed at which they work as "important," according to the
survey. Forty-seven percent of respondents said speed was "very
important" when it came to getting their work done. Another 45 percent
said it was "somewhat important".
The overall pace of work also appears to be increasing. When compared to
twelve months ago, 39 percent of workers reported getting their work
done faster. Fifty-five percent reported getting their work done at
about the same pace. Only five percent reported getting their work done
"I think it's safe to say that the days of taking your time to do the
job right is being replaced by 'do your job right - but do it as fast as
possible,'" said Charles Var, vice president of marketing at TrackVia.
"This hurry-up workplace is simply a new fact of life for many workers

THE BIGGEST IMPACT TO WORKPLACESPEED
When it comes to getting work done faster, simple organization and
experience count most. Twenty-six percent of respondents said "keeping
organized" was most important for getting their work done fast. The
"amount of experience" was selected second most often at 21 percent.
Eight percent of respondents cited "having software that is reliable/
dependable" and another seven percent selected "having the right type of
software needed for my work".
When it comes to speed and workplace technology, IT can play a big role.
However, survey respondents gave mixed reviews of their companies' IT
departments or outside IT technical support, with nearly half
experiencing speed of response they felt was just "OK" or slow or "very

ABOUT THE SURVEY METHODOLOGY
The study was administered by Amplitude Research during October 2012
among a nationwide panel of workers. In total, 300 surveys were
completed by non-C-level, non-IT workers throughout the United States
who use computers and software as part of their daily job. The survey
has a maximum sampling margin of error of +/- 5.7 percentage points at
