Nigerian Telecoms Awards Holds in Lagos


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Come September 20th 2014, the 10th edition of Nigeria's biggest award in the telecoms industry tagged, The Nigerian Telecoms Award will hold in Lagos. The award was first conceptualized in 2004 with the inauguration of its steering committee headed by the then Minister of Communications, Chief C.O Adebayo.



The enlarged committee also comprised major stakeholders in the industry. The organisers of the award, Logica Media Group, publishers of The Nigerian Telecomnews, led by Otunba Ajbiodun Ajiboye noted that the Awards were meant to consolidate on the gains so far recorded in the telecommunications and banking sectors of the economy with a view to encouraging growth and innovations in ICT.

He added: "In the past editions of the awards, we have hosted seven African past heads of states as chairmen of the event. These outstanding statesmen of African descent have had genuine cause to celebrate Nigeria's success in the telecom sector." Top musicians would be on hand to entertain guests at the event with a fashion show as part of the side attractions.
