Newegg and Buybak Celebrate Earth Day 2015 with Pair of Tech Trade-in Initiatives

Newegg, the top tech-focused e-retailer in North America, today announced a special Earth Day initiative with Buybak, the leader in online trade-in applications and logistics services. Together the companies will celebrate Earth Day 2015 by helping LA-based businesses properly recycle and dispose of unwanted technology products. In addition, Buybak is extending a 20% bonus to anyone in the United States who arranges e-waste pickup via the Newegg/Buybak website.

"E-retailers supply much of the technology infrastructure that powers the business world, therefore it's incumbent on companies like Newegg to set the example of how to dispose of technology items properly when they're no longer used," said Soren Mills, Chief Marketing Officer of Newegg North America. "Environmental responsibility is important to Newegg, and we're pleased that our Newegg Express delivery vehicles make it easy for businesses to recycle old technology."

For Businesses in Los Angeles

On Wednesday, April 22, Newegg will mobilize its fleet of Newegg Express delivery vehicles to conduct complimentary e-waste pick-ups. Businesses located within 50 miles of Newegg's City of Industry headquarters have been invited to take part.

For Individual Customers

Newegg customers who wish to trade-in their unwanted consumer electronics can do so via the Newegg/Buybak website, https://newegg.buybak.com/. Pick-ups scheduled on April 22 are eligible for an additional 20% credit on top of the standard trade-in value they would normally receive.

"The Newegg-Buybak Earth Day partnership gives Newegg's millions of customers an easy way to responsibly dispose of unwanted tech products," said Steve Bonneau, Buybak's President. "To celebrate Earth Day, Buybak is adding a financial incentive of 20% for all Buybak orders placed on April 22 - it's our way of encouraging people to positively impact the environment, while simultaneously de-cluttering their home or office."
