New Web Site Launched: 'Message Through Time' Delivers Email Video Messages Today for Recipients TomorrowNORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I., Nov 12, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- A local entrepreneur today announced the launch of http://www.messagethroughtime.com, a Web site for people to send email video messages and greetings at a specified date and time in the future. MessageThroughTime.com is designed to use the power of video to help people of all ages connect in a meaningful way. Visitors to the site simply set up a free account and can get started immediately by uploading their videos in AVI, FLV, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPG, and WMV formats. Photos and text-only messages can be sent, as well. MessageThroughTime.com was created by North Smithfield, RI resident Janice Beauregard. One evening, she and her husband were watching a television show where a child morphed into an old woman in a matter of seconds. Being new parents themselves, they realized their young daughter would not have memories of them until she's old enough to recall. What if they could capture their family now, on video, and share it with her in the future using the Internet? "My husband surfed the Web all night for a site that would accomplish this, but found nothing. The next day, I took the project on as a business because he has a full-time job as a police officer. The goal was to create a Web site that would be able to send a message through time," explains Janice. "The concept is like a video message in a bottle except the recipient is not random, rather it is chosen to receive the message on a specific date and time. There are so many reasons to send a message in the future, such as for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or just because. These can be happy, sad, funny, and even business-related occasions. We're hoping as more users log on, we'll get even more ideas on ways to share with others." Several examples of how the MessageThroughTime.com Web site could be used are as follows: -- Receiving a video email on your wedding day with a message from your dad recorded before he passed away. -- Sending a special first year dating anniversary message to celebrate the milestone with your partner. -- As a grandparent, recording video birthday greetings for your grandchildren, capturing your vim and vigor while you've still got it. -- Perhaps a terminally ill patient wishes to send personal messages to family and friends for them to receive after they've gone. -- Deploying soldiers can record greetings to family and friends prior to heading off to duty. -- Dieters can send a video to themselves at future intervals, as a reminder of how they looked and felt when they started a diet or fitness program. -- High school seniors can take on a class project where each student records their goals and where they want to be in five years. -- Business people can use the site as a reminder tool for "to do" list items or goal-setting. "I developed MessageThroughTime.com based on my personal experiences as a new mother, but the site has transformed beyond that," explains Janice. "With so many wonderful purposes to connect, we're helping to capture moments in time, perpetuate family legacies, and document lives. It's certainly very unique."
