New Law Firm Created to Serve Growing Food and Beverage Industry in Michigan

Today a new law firm, Morsel Law PLC, announced that it has opened for business in southeastern Michigan focused on the legal needs of food, beverage and hospitality businesses.

Morsel Law PLC's co-founder, Patrick Morin, will oversee the firm's metro Detroit office, which will open in February. Mr. Morin stated, "Detroit is a city with a great sense of pride in its culture and food and is a center of innovation. Not only is there an established core of outstanding food businesses, but entrepreneurs continue to flock to Detroit to launch their food related ventures. However, there is a shortage of attorneys in the metro area with food law experience. We see this as an excellent opportunity to fill this niche market. I look forward to serving my existing clients and establishing new relationships in Detroit."

Morsel Law PLC specializes in representing food, beverage and hospitality companies. The firm handles a full range of transactional services for these businesses, including regulatory compliance, food labeling and marketing, food safety, licensing, commercial real state, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, securities, and governance matters.

Prior to co-founding Morsel Law PLC, Mr. Morin worked at several prominent national law firms. Most recently, Mr. Morin was Of Counsel to Detroit based law firm Dickinson Wright PLLC. Prior to that, he worked as an attorney at Bass, Berry and Sims PLC in Nashville, TN and Sullivan & Worcester LLP in Boston, MA. Mr. Morin is active in the veterans' community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Veterans Bar Association and as outside counsel to the Veterans Farmer Coalition. In addition to his work with veterans, Mr. Morin regularly provides pro bono services at Food Lab Detroit, a community of food entrepreneurs committed to making the possibility of good food in Detroit a sustainable reality.
