New Human Resources Director Appointed for National Church Institutions

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LONDON, Sept. 15 -- The Church of England issued the following news release: The Archbishops' Council has appointed Hannah Foster as the new Human Resources Director for the National Church Institutions as successor to Su Morgan who left to become HR Director for Essex University earlier this year.

In her new role Hannah Foster will be responsible both for delivering an HR service to the Council, the Church Commissioners, the Pensions Board and the Archbishops and for policy in relation to the terms of service and remuneration of the Church of England's clergy.

Welcoming the appointment William Fittall, Secretary General to the Archbishops' Council said: "I am delighted that we shall be welcoming Hannah to the Church House team in November. The adoption of a more professional approach to human resources issues has been one of the more notable developments across the Church of England over the past decade. Hannah's varied experience in a major international company and her active engagement in various areas of Church of England life mean that she is well placed to make a significant contribution in her new role." Commenting on her appointment Hannah said "I have always seen work as a vocation. I am delighted to be working formally for the Church in my new role. I hope that I can work with and for all parts of our Church, and its people to the greater good." Hannah, who is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, has spent much of her professional career at Pearson PLC, the FTSE 100 education company. Hannah's career has taken her across different businesses within the Pearson Group including the Financial Times, FT.com and Penguin books before moving to the service side of the business related to UK Government contracts.

Since 2010 Hannah's role has been more international being the HR lead for Pearson's English businesses, which are involved in teaching English to non-native speakers, working in over 26 countries and with 6000 employees.

Hannah is a committed Anglican and over the years has been a member of PCCs, a Deanery Synod and is currently a Chapter Canon at Exeter Cathedral and chair of their Personnel Committee. Hannah gives employment advice to a number of Charities and is a member of Exeter and the Heart of Devon Employment and Skills Board. She has fund raised for several charities, worked in homeless shelters, voluntarily nursed at a home in Delhi and dug a well in Uganda.

Hannah is married to David, a retired Royal Naval Officer who is now a farmer in Devon.
