New App Allows Residents to Access Sheriff's Office Information via Mobile Devices(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 29 -- Mecklenburg County issued the following news release: The new Meck Sheriff app is now available for the iPhone. Accessing information from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office is easier than ever. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office has launched a new mobile-friendly app that streamlines and organizes information about arrests, inmates, court status and more for folks using smart phones and tablets. The new Meck Sheriff app was developed by our Information Technology staff and allows residents search by inmate name or identification number to obtain information about charges, sentences, mug shots, and other details. Users can also see where the inmate is housed in order to schedule visitations. The Meck Sheriff app is available on iTunes and as an app for Windows 8 devices. The Windows 8 app allows users to perform arrest inquiries, inmate inquiries, and warrant inquiries.
