Nevada Students, Families and Education Leaders Celebrate National School Choice Week 2018

On Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 10 AM, 1,800 students, families and schools of choice from across the Silver State will participate in Nevada's National School Choice Week celebration at the Artemus Ham Hall on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

School choice means giving parents access to the best K-12 education options for their children. "National School Choice Week recognizes the many ways families select K-12 education options, including traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies and homeschooling," said Elissa Wahl, of RISE Education Resource Center.

Featured student performers representing Nevada schools will include:
Coral Academy of Science - Sandy Ridge Campus's Glee Club, Intrnational Christian Academy of Las Vegas' Soccer Academy and Soccer Skills groups, and Classical Conversations of Southern Nevada's Foundations students singing a selection of history songs.

Artemus Ham Hall is located at 4505 South Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89154. See campus map for details and parking locations.

Since 2011, NSCW is the world's largest annual celebration of opportunity in education. It is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical, independent public awareness event, and is not associated with any legislative lobbying or advocacy.

ACCESS: Media interested in covering the event should RSVP to Don Soifer at [email protected]. Families and school leaders will be available for on-site interviews immediately before and after the event. Limited space to film the event will also be available.
