The Napa
in Newport Wine Auction on February 28 will feature 29 Napa
wineries. Each winery will sponsor a table and pour a
selection of their wines during the wine tasting reception. Chef
David Slay from Park Ave designed a special menu to pair with the
incredible wines. The event benefits CureDuchenne, a nonprofit
that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for
Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Duchenne is a progressive
muscle-wasting disease that impacts 1 in 3,500 boys.

Why:
|
|
|
Currently, there is no approved treatment for Duchenne, a
devastating muscle disease that affects more than 300,000 boys
worldwide. Boys are usually diagnosed by the age of 5, in a
wheelchair by 12 and most don't survive their mid-20s. CureDuchenne
has funded seven research projects that have advanced to human
clinical trials. The funds raised from the Napa in Newport Wine
Auction supports the most promising research projects aimed at
treating and curing Duchenne.
