Murata's AS-M and AS-V series of anisotropic...

(Electronics Weekly (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Murata's AS-M and AS-V series of anisotropic magneto resistance (AMR) sensors are designed to provide a non-contact magnetic sensor of high sensitivity for use in a relatively low magnetic field.

These devices, the smallest measuring 1.2 x 1.2 x 0.37mm, can detect a magnetic field in either a horizontal or vertical direction.

Compared to traditional magnetic switch components, such as a reed switch or Hall effect IC, AMR sensors are designed to offer high detection sensitivity and a wide detection area.

Within the series, the AS-M15SAH-R and AS-M15KAH-R sensors feature a narrow range of sensitivity, from 0.5 to 1.6mT that suit high accuracy applications.

The AS-M15SA-R and AS-M15KA-R parts have a sensitivity range, from 0.5 to 2.2mT. The AS-V series provides vertical magnetic field detection, and is designed as a more cost effective replacement for Hall IC designs.

The wireless inclinometer uses a MEMS sensor and the multi-channel digital two-way telemetry system has a wireless range of up to 100m, 18-bit resolution and a battery life of up to five years.

The supplier can customise its inclinometers and manufacture to comply with specific customer requirements within its AS9100B quality management system.

www.sherbornesensors.com Micro-ohm resistor has permanent 5W power rating Developed for current ratings of up to 100A, the BVB micro-ohm resistor from Rhopoint is made up of a solid piece of resistance alloy electron beam welded to solid copper terminals, a construction which results in a 5W (0.5mO) permanent power rating.

The device has a resistance range of 0.5mO to 5mO and has a TC range of below 50ppm/°C in the temperature range 20°C to 60°C.

Values from 0.5mO to 2mO are held in stock.

The resistor is ideal for use on DCB and IMS substrates.

www.rhopointcomponents.com All-plastic sensor for engine management systems TDK-EPC has an all-plastic media temperature sensor designed for the temperature measurement of motor oil or coolant in engine management systems.

The all-plastic construction of the Epcos B58101A802A sensor is lightweight and offers a tight seal.

The plastic housing around the sensor head is designed to ensure good thermal conductivity.

The operating temperature range is -40°C to +200°C.

The B58101A802A type is available in a wide range of nominal resistances from 2kO to 1.4MO.

The temperature tolerance is specified at ±0.5°C at the rated temperature.

www.epcos.com Touchscreen controller platform senses in 4-dimensions Semtech has a touchscreen controller platform with the capability to sense in the X, Y, Z+ (proximity), and Z- (pressure) directions in touch-interface applications, such as automotive consoles and POS terminals.

Designated 4D-Touch, there are both resistive and capacitive sensing platforms. The resistive touchscreen devices support a proximity detection distance of more than 5cm using any standard 4/5-wire analogue resistive panel.

They feature a 12-bit analogue-to-digital converter for coordinates and touch pressure measurement.

The touchscreen controllers not only calculate the X,Y coordinate of the touch, but also support capacitive proximity sensing (Z+) as well as pressure measurement (Z-) with tactile feedback via haptics.

www.semtech.com/info HCLA series measure low gage or differential pressures Sensortechnics HCLA pressure sensors are designed to measure low gage or differential pressures from 2.5mbar Full Scale.

The HCLA series provides a digital I²C bus interface plus an analogue 0.5 to 4.5 V output signal at the same time.

The sensors are designed to communicate with microcontrollers without the need for additional A/D converters.

Further, digital SPI bus and custom specific outputs are available on request.

HCLA pressure sensors use a special compensation technique to achieve a very high offset stability and virtually no position sensitivity.

There is an optional 3V supply (standard 5V) so sensors can be used in battery powered devices. A range of miniature single inline and SMT housing options are available.

All HCLA pressure sensors can be modified according to customer specific requirements.

www.sensortechnics.com/hcla Digital inclinometer measures pitch and roll angles Analog Devices has the ADIS16210 MEMS iSensor digital inclinometer system, which provides measurements for both pitch and roll angles over a full orientation range of ±180 degrees.

The device includes addressable user registers for application tuning and programming which are available over an SPI-compatible serial interface.

The precision core sensors are tuned to allow accurate roll/pitch outputs independent of the orientation of the mounted sensor.

The ADIS16210 is offered with unit-specific factory calibration, with 0.1-degree tilt accuracy. Each device is calibrated to ensure alignment across each of the three axes and tilt measurement accuracy over the full motion range, independent of mounting orientation.

The digital inclinometer provides accelerometer and temperature sensor measurements with configuration controls for in-system calibration, sample rate, filtering, I/O configuration, and power management.

www.analog.com STMicroelectronics can supply a MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) based inertial module that integrates three-axis sensing of linear and angular motion in a 4x5x1mm package.

The iNEMO LSM330DLC multi-sensor module combines a user-selectable full-scale acceleration range from 2 to 16g with angular-rate detection from 250 to 2,500dps along the pitch, roll and yaw axes 2.

Addressing power constraints in battery-operated portable devices, the module includes power-down and sleep modes and an embedded FIFO (first-in first-out) memory block for smarter power management. In addition, it can operate with any supply voltage over the range of 2.4 to 3.6V.

It is the smallest 6 DoF device in ST's iNEMO inertial module family.

www.st.com/mems Aspen Electronics is offering a range of high power chip attenuators with a power handling capability up to 150W.

As a result they can be used in signal sampling applications in circulators and isolators for example.

The RPCA150-20 and RPCA150-30 series operate from DC to 3GHz. They feature low VSWR of 1.20:1, impedance of 50O and an operating temperature range from -55°C to 150°C.

Users can select any attenuation value with accuracy at 20dB of ±1dB (RPCA150-20) or 30dB of ±1dB (RPCA150-30), and a choice of termination styles.

Terminal finish for all devices is electroplated tin over nickel barrier. All devices are fully RoHS compliant.
