Multitone to Showcase its Firecoder and i-Console Emergency Services Communications Solutions at B-APCO 2015

Multitone Electronics plc, a specialist in the design, manufacture and implementation of integrated communication systems for multiple organisations, announces it will be showcasing the latest versions of its Firecoder system’s smart app and new i–Console product at the B-APCO 2015 Exhibition and Conference.

The event, which is being held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex from 31st March – 1st April, is Europe’s leading free-to-attend multi-agency forum in public safety communications. It also offers a unique platform to see global suppliers such as Multitone showcase their latest products and services which are revolutionising the public safety industry.

Reflecting upon the company’s upcoming appearance at the event, Cathy Clewer, Marketing Communications Manager commented, “B-APCO is a great showcase for the latest solutions and innovations in the public safety sector and we are excited to be showing a number of our latest products and services. Stand A10 will feature Firecoder, our complete system for any fire or rescue service’s facility. Also featured will be Multitone i-Console, a remarkable new touchscreen system that is highly intuitive to use, gives a visual status of the fire station and can be configured to any bespoke specifications, ensuring the maximum degree of automation for any facility.” Cathy added, “This is the perfect opportunity to see Multitone’s critical communications offering in action and to meet the development team. We are also looking for visitor feedback on both the new Firecoder app and Multitone i-Console. Our systems are developed in close cooperation with fire and rescue teams, so innovation often comes from feedback from the professionals that would rely upon them in real situations and emergencies. As well as managing emergencies, it became clear that there was a real need for help in managing everyday tasks as well, for example turning off the lights or kitchen appliances when the teams are either out on a job or when these items aren’t required, hence the development of our new interface.” Multitone’s Firecoder is a robust communication system designed for the fire and rescue services that alerts the correct teams, delivers information on the emergency and ensures that all internal functions and housekeeping requirements at the fire station are completed. Multitone will be introducing the new FRS smart device app, which shows the immediate availability of crew members in addition to rapid communication between teams. The new app is designed to give greater flexibility for the teams that use Firecoder, allowing information to be shared in the most convenient and flexible ways to meet modern expectations of communications.

The new Multitone i-Console touchscreen solution offers a complete fire station management system that is controlled via a large touchscreen, tablet or smartphone. The system also uses WebSocket protocols, which ensure that alerts are always immediate and uninterrupted. Developed in close association with the emergency services, i-Console is fully customisable and offers complete visibility of operational status, from an emergency situation and crew/vehicle readiness to control of the alerts system and more mundane housekeeping management of the whole facility – with scheduling of daily tasks and reminders.

At the other end of the spectrum Multitone i-Console can be programmed to activate alarms, with lighting to ensure firefighters are alerted more gently at unsociable hours. Equally, if crews are outside training the external alarms can be used instead – or silenced during the night to ensure neighbouring properties suffer a minimum of disturbance, all at the touch of button. It can also ensure that only the crews that need to be alerted are disturbed during a reported incident, rather than a whole station and all staff.

As well as demonstrating the latest products, the Multitone team will be on hand to answer any specific communications needs that visitors may have. Cathy concluded, “B-APCO 2015 really is the ideal opportunity to come and see just what’s new in the public safety sector. Communications have evolved in the last few years and we are excited to be showing just how much help they can offer beyond the traditional call handling of emergencies. Modern critical communications really do mirror the wider smart device revolution and it’s the ideal time to investigate how this can help to save lives as well as time and resources in the real world.” About Multitone As a pioneer of wireless messaging, Multitone Electronics plc is a specialist developer of integrated communication systems for on-site and global use.
