MTBC Prioritizes Member Interests, Changes Name to Tech Titans

To better represent its more contemporary audience base and the true leadership held by the North Texas tech community, the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC (News - Alert)) embraced its new, though familiar, organization name at its 15th Annual Tech Titans Awards Gala last week. The organization will now be known as Tech Titans™, The Technology Association for North Texas.

"The name 'Tech Titans' is well-known and has a strong reputation in the local high-tech community. The MTBC has been honoring Tech Titans in North Texas at the gala for 15 years and even people who are not members of our organization are familiar with the name," said Kent Novak, Tech Titans chairman of the board. "Tech Titans celebrates technology and innovation. By using the Tech Titans name for our organization, we clearly state our intent to build the reputation of the technology community in North Texas as a hub for innovation."

Tech Titans is a forum that leverages the regional technology community to collaborate, share and inspire creative thinking that fuels tomorrow's innovations. This way of thinking extends beyond a traditional tech audience to one that touches all aras of the North Texas community, including consumer audiences and individuals.

Tech Titans made some significant changes this year including the following:

  • Membership was opened to individuals and non-tech companies.
  • A new special interest forum platform was introduced. The forums are built around a specific technology or business vertical in which members can meet and share ideas around areas that would most benefit their companies. Current areas include: business intelligence, cloud, cybersecurity, design and manufacturing, health technology and the Internet of Things.
  • A new bundled pricing structure for members is now available.

"This is our defining moment of change," said Bill Sproull, Tech Titans president and CEO. "The name Tech Titans personifies our strength and where we're going as an organization. The changes we've made in our programming show how we're responding to the developing needs of our members and the technology community."
