MPower CRM software released on Sourceforge under GPL

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
MPower, a software supplier responsible for the eponymous constituent
relationship management (CRM) program, announced today (13 June) that
its program has been accepted by Sourceforge.net, an online repository
of open source software.

The company's program can be downloaded from Sourceforge for free and
used by private individuals or not-for-profit organisations such as
charities without charge under the General Public License (GPL). In
addition to having free access to the functional program, users will
have full access to the source code and the freedom to make changes to
the code either to introduce new functionality or to fix problems.

MPower intend to launch forums moderated by their development staff to
provide help and support to users and to publish guidelines and coding
practices on a wiki for organisations that would like to make changes

to the software. Product documentation will also be available. Users
will be able to publish changes to the software for possible inclusion
by MPower into the product.

Although the software will be available free to not-for-profit
organisations under GPL, commercial users will not be able to take
advantage of this license.
