Mobile Broadband Network to deploy Sync-E from Virgin Media Business

Sep 05, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- UK fibre optic network provider Virgin Media Business announced on Monday that its Sync-E solution is to be deployed by Mobile Broadband Network Ltd (MBNL), the network sharing joint venture between Everything Everywhere and Hutchison 3G UK.

The value of the eight-year contract is estimated at over GBP100m.

According to Virgin Media Business the deployment will enable MBNL to support the growth in data traffic and lay the foundations for a transition towards 4G.

Virgin Media Business will build 14 regional aggregation networks across the UK to enhance MBNL's bandwidth capacity and according to the company the new technology is set to be the UK's only synchronous Ethernet mobile backhaul service.
