MIT Professional Education and TSW Tie up for a Workshop on Design Driven Innovation for Senior Technology Professionals

MUMBAI, September 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --

TSW, an initiative of Times Professional Learning, announced it is launching a new workshop in collaboration with MIT Professional Education, the professional education arm of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The workshop will introduce business executives and teams to an innovative leadership approach through design.

Design Driven Innovation leads to improvements in innovation, product design, service, and delivery, by helping leaders create a foundation of deep understanding of customer needs and wants. The approach also helps leaders to establish a cohesive vision across diverse program areas such as engineering, business and design. The two-day workshop will address the five essential steps to implementation, including: Empathy, Defining, Ideating, Prototyping and Testing. Participants will learn through both analytic and hands-on techniques such as prototyping.

The workshop agenda was structured by the expert faculty of MIT Professional Education, and draws on the resources of MIT's Integrated Design & Management (IDM) program and it's Integrated Design Lab (ID Lab). The session will be delivered by the Director and Founder of the MIT IDM master's degree track, Matthew S. Kressy. As an entrepreneur and founder of Designturn, Kressy has designed, invented, engineered, and manufactured products for startups, Fortune 500 companies and everything in between. Since 1999, Kressy has co-taught collaborative courses in product design and development at top design and business schools including the MIT Sloan School of Management, the Rhode Island School f Design (RISD) and the Harvard Business School.

"Great leadership uses the design process as its underpinning," says Kressy. "Technology is, of course, important, but at a certain point you have to make the technology pleasing to the customer on an emotional level as well as a functional level. Without design you are not going to be competitive."

The two-day workshop will be held on the 8th and 9th of October 2018 in Mumbai, followed by the next workshop in Bangalore.

"Through the two workshops, we hope to share with participants in Mumbai and Bangalore, a very MIT approach to innovative leadership in the technology sector," said Lily Fu, Director of International Programs, MIT Professional Education.

Anish Srikrishna, President at Times Professional Learning, says, "TSW's collaboration with MIT Professional Education will help individual executives as well as various teams to come up with innovative solutions to enhance their product and service designing approach. We are proud to have collaborated with MIT, one of the most prestigious institutes around the world, to impart quality concepts through this workshop to executives from across the country here in Mumbai and Bangalore."
