Media Alert: Keynote by Numenta's Subutai Ahmad and HTM Applications Featured at the 2015 Smart Data Conference

Numenta, Inc., a leader in the field of machine intelligence, today announced its participation in the 2015 Smart Data Conference, to be held August 18-20, 2015 in San Jose. The forum, produced by Dataversity, will bring together thought leaders on smart data technologies from emerging disciplines in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, cognitive computing, semantic technologies, and deep learning.

Subutai Ahmad, Numenta's Vice President of Research, will present an opening keynote talk, "How Cognitive Computing Will Drive the Future of Analytics", at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 19. Additionally, Numenta (Booth #406) will preview the Numenta Anomaly Benchmark (NAB), its new open-source benchmark and evaluation tool for streaming anomaly detection, and demonstrate example applications showing how Hierarchical Temporal Memory (HTM) technology can be applied to treaming data and the Internet of Things.

Numenta's demos will include:

Grok for Stocks - A mobile application to monitor stock prices, stock volume and Twitter (News - Alert) activities for hundreds of publicly traded companies. It learns the normal patterns and notifies you if something unusual is happening to any of the companies. Available on Google Play for Android (News - Alert).

Grok for IT Analytics on AWS - The first commercially available HTM application. It detects anomalies in AWS server metrics and is currently available on the Amazon Web Services Marketplace.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) Language Intelligence - In partnership with Cortical.io, the developer of Semantic Folding technology, Numenta is enabling applications for problems that have challenged computer scientists for decades, including sentiment analysis, automatic summarization, semantic search, and conversational dialogue systems.

Geospatial tracking - This Numenta demonstration application detects anomalies in the movement of people, objects, or material using speed and location data.

Numenta, Inc., is a leader in the field of machine intelligence. Numenta builds technology that helps companies automatically act on streaming data. Its machine learning technology is based on a theory of the neocortex first described in co-founder Jeff Hawkins' book, On Intelligence. In addition, Numenta has created NuPIC (Numenta Platform for Intelligent Computing) as an open source project (www.numenta.org). Numenta is based in Redwood City, California.
