Matrix Internet behind VoIP launch in Japan

(BNamericas.com Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Brazilian telecoms solutions developer Matrix Internet is the main supplier behind a VoIP service being launched in Japan this week, the company said in a statement.

Matrix Internet, in partnership with Telecall Japan, is targeting 100,000 clients within a year, Eber Lacerda, Matrix Internet's CEO told BNamericas.

The service will target foreigners, especially Latin Americans resident in Japan. Brazil's relationship with Japan stems from the fact its industrial hub So Paulo has the largest number of Japanese of any city outside of Japan.

Users can call from Japan to So Paulo for the price of a local Brazilian call, said Billy Souto Maior, director of voice at Matrix Internet in the statement. Customers will receive two numbers and a prepaid card.

Since 1988, Matrix Internet, in association with Primus Telecommunications, has offered connectivity and call center solutions in Brazil. The company has offices in Florianpolis, Curitiba, So Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and the northern city of Fortaleza.
