Massively and Kik Collaborate to Promote Insidious: Chapter 3

Massively Creates Chilling Text-Based Story
to Promote Trailer on Kik

TORONTO, March 24, 2015 /CNW/ - Massively is pleased to announce the successful launch of its partnership with Kik Interactive Inc. The two companies have created an interactive text-messaging story game to support the launch of the Insidious: Chapter 3 full theatrical trailer, released on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

Developed by Massively's creative team for new and long-time fans of the terrifying horror series, the adventure introduces Kik users to the character of Quinn Brenner, the new film's teenage heroine. The non-linear story allows Kik users to chat with Quinn and participate in a transmedia experience that reveals plot points and characters from the film. Focus Features releases Insidious: Chapter 3 nationwide on Friday, June 5, 2015.

Kik Promoted Chats allow users to connect with brands in a personal, one-to-one setting. Since launching in August 2014, more than 60 brands, including Funny or Die, Seventeen Magazine, Skullcandy and Vans, are seeing high engagement levels, and more than 10 million users have opted into a conversation with a brand.

In pre-launch tests, Kik users chatted with Massively's own Lord of Riddles game, sending more than 2 million text messages in response to Massively's brain teasers in fewer than four weeks.

Inspired by the idea that fans want to chat with characters they love, Massively draws from multiple choice adventures and alternate reality games. Users send and receive text messages to guide stories, receive clues, jokes and more.
