Stars suspected to have benefited from a surgeon's knife are always subject to speculation. One such artiste who has been drawing curious glances over the past few weeks has been Asma Ghani, or Mas from the second season of Akademi Fantasia. If you've been keeping tabs on our story of a reality TV artiste who is now flaunting a new look with an elongated chin, then it's about time to get the owner of the face to comment on the rumours that she has sought cosmetic enhancement. THE HOT SEAT: Mas "MANA ada?" is Asma Ghani's reply to those who say she has definitely changed her looks.More affectionately known as Mas, she refuted claims she has had cosmetic enhancement, though she admits to a strict beauty regimen that includes facials. The enterprising businesswoman, who has plans to set up an eatery, said she was flattered by comments she looked better than ever, though she denied it has anything to do with collagen implants, despite a pronounced, elongated chin. "I use whatever time I have to take care of my skin, and perhaps I look different as I have lost weight, but I haven't had any implants or anything of that sort." Though it is doubted that even weight loss can do that much, Mas sticks by her story. "My busy schedule does not permit me to indulge too much in beauty treatments, but I do the best I can, as I know, being in showbiz, I need to maintain, if not improve myself. "Looks are everything in this business. And the pressure to look good is always there." Despite repeated jibes at her chin, Mas steadfastly denied any enhancements and insisted it was a result of casual beauty treatmens. "Whatever I say, it can be misconstrued, as different people have different understanding of what beauty enhancements are. "Air sembahyang kot," she giggles in jest. To prove her claims that she has not done any enhancement out of the ordinary apart from her usual skincare regiment, she even recommended the names of the beauty outlets belonging to her friends which she frequents. "I get it done free there," she laughs. Now that she has got the look down, Mas is geared up for the release of her solo debut, which she says is still in the planning stages. "My album has been talked about for some time now, and I will have my own effort out soon, following the rest of my friends from season two of Akademi Fantasia. "It is too early to say who is involved in the album, as lots of composers and songwriters have been enlisted to provide tunes for it, but my fans can be rest assured my album will be out soon." Meanwhile the mother of two is keeping busy not only with her maternal duties but her own business ventures. "There are not that many shows, definitely not enough to survive on. So I realise that it is important for me to be enterprising and make a living out of my own efforts and not be dependent on others." Much ado over nothing DAYANG Nurfaizah (left) has been looking really great recently. Her fashion sense, especially her taste in shoes, gets our applause. However, at a recent event, she wore a top that was off-shoulder on one side where there seemed to be a danger of erm...contents spilling out. "How can anything spill out if there isn't anything there in the first place," she retorted. Ah! A fashion sense...and a sense of humour. Another drops out A LITTLE more on Akademi Fantasia. Aidil, the former air steward who let go of his full-time job to pursue his dreams in Akademi Fantasia last season, is out of the fray. A source revealed that Aidil is second after Fuad to be dropped from Maestro Talent & Management's roster of artistes as he is pursuing his studies. Wouldn't it have been better if these kids hadn't bothered in the first place and taken up someone else's space? Fauziah Nawi coming back? WORD is Fauziah Nawi may be rejoining the Akademi Fantasia faculty. The lovable, matronly figure who was the performing arts teacher for two seasons for the show is said to be agreeable to rejoin the show. Also possibly debunking the rumours, Fatimah Abu Bakar may just retain her spot as student advisor and English teacher. AF venue is confirmed HAVE you heard? The confirmed venue for the weekly Akademi Fantasia concerts is the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council Civic Centre. Going home to the stage that was home to the second season, the intimate setting will however apply to all the weekly concerts except for the final which will be held in Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil. And yes, this is CONFIRMED news we have from the venue owners, so everyone out there can stop speculating about it. Syafinaz in the running WORD is already out that Kudsia Kahar will not resume her position as resident critic for Akademi Fantasia, after reluctantly proceeding last season which served as her farewell to the show. So who's stepping into her shoes? We heard that despite Syafinaz being tipped to be in the faculty this year, it's confirmed that the singer is indeed going to replace Kudsia as the resident critic. Was it because she was the only guest critic last season who was actually honest to tell the kids they were not all that great? Too much talking CAN someone please tell this failed comedian to shut up! Recently, this jaded and not very funny man was hosting an event, and got on the nerves of everyone by talking endlessly. Apparently he loves the sound of his voice so much, he decided to join in on the photo call and provide a running commentary on inane topics as cameras were clicking. It's amazing how desperate some people can get for publicity. All sucked away SHE'S looking trim, this one. However, if word is to be believed, the multi-talented artiste has resorted to liposuction to enhance her already trim and slender figure. Why? Lord knows... Runaway boyfriend SO WHAT? got a call from an unindentified person who told us of how this artiste was on the run overseas after making his girlfriend pregnant. Apparently, according to the informer, the said artiste's girlfriend had resorted to an abortion, here in Kuala Lumpur. To avoid the shame of possibly being implicated, the artiste was said to have made a run for it. How true is that? We'll share that next week. |
