Market Maker Surveillance Report. AMAT, MO, RIMM, BSBR, CLWR, OPK, Bullishly Biased Price Friction For Thursday, December 13th 2012

Dec 14, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3926 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2066 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3800 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. APPLIED MATERIALS, INC. (NASDAQ:AMAT), Altria Group Inc (NYSE:MO), RESEARCH IN MOTION (NASDAQ:RIMM), Banco Santander Brasil SA (NYSE:BSBR), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), OPKO Health Inc (NYSE:OPK). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction AMAT $0.020 0.18% 6,431,568 45.32% 7,754,686 54.64% -1,323,118 Abnormal MO $0.010 0.03% 2,605,885 28.60% 3,877,124 42.55% -1,271,239 Abnormal RIMM $0.380 2.85% 40,055,362 49.06% 41,485,801 50.82% -1,430,439 Abnormal BSBR $0.030 0.43% 1,556,985 22.55% 2,851,025 41.29% -1,294,040 Abnormal CLWR $0.400 14.55% 57,309,628 47.30% 63,845,338 52.70% -6,535,710 Abnormal OPK $0.040 0.88% 1,280,040 29.26% 2,880,390 65.84% -1,600,350 Abnormal Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AMAT with 1,323,118 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
