LMC Launches Wonder Goals to Support Charity and Reward Players

(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The League Management Company (LMC) has launched another Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative which aims to deepen the leagues engagement with its public. This initiative confers on a player whose goal was voted as the best by fans, the benefit of choosing a local charity that will share from the N100, 000 prize money.

The Wonder Goals Project is a social media interactive scheme that aims to encourage Community-based engagement by the clubs, showcase the video of goals scored by players in the Glo Premier League and also to recognize the circumstance, collective and individual qualities that produced some of the goals.

Chairman of LMC, Hon. Nduka Irabor explained that the project dubbed 'Wonder Goals', offers fans the opportunity to see some of the best goals scored in the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season and also to vote for the goal they consider the best. It follows on the heels of the social cohesion messages and health awareness campaign launched by the league organizers through its digital media platforms and at match venues.

So far total of 502 goals scored in 238 games of 24 Match Days played and this gives us an average of 20.9 goals per Match Day and 2.1 goals per match. Every player whose goal attracts the highest number of votes will earn N100, 000 from which 50% will be donated to a local charity of his choice.

All voting will be done online through the LMC digital platforms (www.lmc-ng.org) where fans are to choose from three goals weekly and through the LMC facebook account (www.facebook.com/leaguemanagementcomapny) where fans will click the 'like' button on the uploaded video any goal of their choice. The videos can also be found on the LMC Twitter handle, @lmc-npfl Copyright Daily Independent. Distributed by AllAfrica Global Media (allAfrica.com).
