Cumming has been appointed to the board of directors for the National Western Stock Show. Cumming is a fifth-generation Coloradan who grew up on the family farm and ranch near Julesburg. He and his family exhibited Hereford and Simmental cattle at the Stock Show for more 50 years. At 12, Cumming won the Grand Champion Steer at the Colorado State Fair. He was later awarded a Boettcher Scholarship, which he used in pursuit of his BS in Business Finance from Colorado State University before earning his JD from the University of Colorado Law School.
